Breckenridge Police officers, in conjunction with the staff of Breckenridge Ski Resort, will be out in full force Tuesday, April 1 for “Gaper Day,” according to a department news release.
The town of Breckenridge, as well as the Breckenridge Ski Area, is committed to maintaining a high quality work environment and guest experience free of harassment, the release stated. April 1 is not an excuse for disrespectful and abusive behavior or offensive language or dress.
The police department also would like to remind patrons of the mountain that bringing alcohol, marijuana or other drugs onto ski area property, including ski lifts, is illegal.
There will be zero tolerance for illegal or disrespectful behavior, the release stated. Anyone asked to surrender a pass on Gaper Day due to their actions will be subject to loss of skiing privileges for the remainder of the season.
Questions and concerns regarding Gaper Day can be directed to the Breckenridge Police Department at 453-2941 or the Breckenridge Ski Area at 453-5000.
