Donations for After-Prom
The third annual Summit High School After-Prom event will take place Saturday, April 26. The goal is to provide a safe, substance free and fun environment for Summit High School juniors and seniors. The cost for students to attend is $10 which covers all After-Prom festivities. Sponsors are looking for both raffle prizes gift certificates and other fun items that high school students would enjoy, as well as cash donations to help purchase larger raffle prizes. Breckenridge Dining Passport
Proceeds from the Breckenridge Restaurant Association’s (BRA) Dining Passports this spring will benefit the Breckenridge Grand Vacations Community Center in the old CMC building in Breckenridge. The historic brick schoolhouse on Harris Street is undergoing major rehabilitation to become the Breckenridge Grand Vacations Community Center and South Branch Library, bringing Breckenridge a greatly expanded library, updated movie theater, office space for local nonprofits and a gathering place for the whole community. Passports are available at the Breckenridge Welcome Center and participating restaurants.
Boots and Bingo
The Boots and Bingo event to benefit Advocates for Victims of Assault will take place May 3 from 6-10 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne. It features six games of bingo including prizes, food, a photo booth, a wine and whiskey wall and a cash bar. Prizes include Denver Zoo 4 Pack, Strawberry Hot Springs, Copper Mountain Day Passes, Ski Cooper Day Passes, Stand Up Paddle, Guided Fly Fishing Excursion, gift certificates to local merchants and many more. Advocates for Victims of Assault is a local nonprofit organization which provides services that enhance safety and justice for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and trauma. In addition to providing a 24-hour crisis line, AVA also help with emergency shelter for women, men and children, and provides medical, legal and counseling referrals. Cinco de Mayo with Mi Casa
Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Cantina announces the 31st Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration to raise funds for the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center Willie Whalen Memorial Fund. The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 5 with a special buffet featuring Mexican & Southwestern culinary creations by Executive Chef Bruce Carlton. A silent auction will be held from 5-8:45 p.m. There will be giveaways throughout the evening along with live music with Drew Reges starting at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25 for adults and $12 for kids under twelve, with all proceeds going to the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center Willie Whalen Memorial Fund. The Lake Dillon Amphitheater and Summit Swing Dance will be offering social dances every Tuesday night from 6-8:30 p.m. beginning June 10 through the end of August this summer. The event will be an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to raise money for their causes. No admission will be charged, however, donations can be requested and concessions can also be a source of income. There will be no overhead for participating organizations and all donations and income from concessions will go the direct benefit of the organization. Trail for adoption
Trail Segment 7.1, from the Gold Hill Trailhead to the top of the 10 Mile Range will go up for adoption this season. The previous volunteer cut trees, maintained water bars and posted signs.
