The town of Breckenridge announced this week it will suspend all three-hour parking restrictions during the month of May.
Vehicles may be parked overnight in designated three-hour parking lots beginning May 1.
Three-hour parking restrictions will go back into effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning June 1. Vehicles left for more than three hours after 8 a.m. will be ticketed.
Pay parking lots, including Tiger Dredge, F-Lot, Wellington and East Sawmill, are free for the summer, beginning May 1. Vehicles may park in those lots for up to 24 hours including overnight. Vehicles must be moved after 24 hours. Pay parking for those lots will resume in November in time for opening day of the 2014-15 ski season.
May and summer parking rules do not apply to the Recreation Center or Carter Park. Overnight parking at those locations is prohibited and there is no on-street parking between 2 and 6 a.m.
However, extended overnight parking — 1 to 14 days — is available at the Satellite and Ice Rink lots for $5 per night.
Town parking permits also will continue to be available for residents, guests and businesses. Many of those permits have a July 1 renewal date.
Delivery zones have been created in the downtown corridor to improve business operations in conjunction with temporary parking for delivery drivers. Use of those delivery areas requires the purchase of a town delivery zone permit, which may be renewed annually.
For more information about delivery zone permits, call the Community Service and Parking Division at the Breckenridge Police Department at 547-3122 or visit the office at 150 Valley Brook St.
