National Repertory Orchestra Presents ‘Stunning Strings’

Breckenridge, July 9

7:30 p.m., Breckenridge Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave. Enjoy an evening of ‘Stunning Strings,’ conducted by Carl Topilow and featuring the talented musicians of the National Repertory Orchestra. The program will include Elgar - Serenade for Strings, Mendelssohn - Six Children’s Pieces, Mozskowski - Suite for Two Violins, Tchaikovsky - Pezzo Capriccioso, and Respihi - Botticelli Tripych. $25-$40, $7/youth 18 & under.

Guided Nature Hike

Frisco, July 9

9:30 a.m., Frisco Day Lodge, 621 Recreation Way. Hike with others and learn more about the Peninsula Recreation Area flora and fauna while enjoying spectacular scenery. Hike is easy to moderate in ability and will be 2 hours in duration. Reservations are required by calling (970) 668-2558. $10 for adults adn $5 for kids. Pets welcome on leash.

Summit Trail Running Series Race #3

Breckenridge, July 9

6 p.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Road. Explore the Baker’s Tank trail this summer at Race #3 of the 13th annual Summit Trail Running Series. Race #3 is Baker’s Tank with a 4K short course and a 9K long course. Individual Race registration: Age 19 & up $20 - pre-registration, $25 - Day-of registration. 1883 Schoolhouse Museum Tours

Dillon, July 9-12

10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 403 LaBonte St. Learn about school days of the past in the authentically furnished schoolhouse. View “Town at the Bottom of the Lake,” which tells about the construction of Dillon dam. Tour the Lula Myers 1885 ranch house and the depression era “honeymoon” cabin.
