Adams Ave. ‘A Midsummer’s Opening Night’ Francesco Lecce-Chong, conductor Copland: An Outdoor Overture Mendelssohn: ‘Nocturne’ from Midsummer Night’s Dream. Handel: ‘Hornpipe’ from Watermusic Mozart: ‘Allegro’ from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik Gershwin: ‘Lullaby’ and featuring guest artist vocalist Helen Welch: Gershwin’s ‘I Got Rhythm’, and songs from Broadway and Hollywood.

Breckenridge, July 17-19

9 a.m., Carter Park Pavilion. 16 artists painting en plein air. Guided hikes include birding tour with Hugh Kingery. Workshops by artists Ann Weaver and Kim Barrick and wildlife photographer Richard Seeley. Art Show on Friday, July 18 will feature artists’ plein air paintings and studio pieces for viewing and purchase, plus casual al fresco dining and live music on covered patio of Carter Park Pavilion. Proceeds benefit Continental Divide Land Trust. Varies by activity, about $10 to $50.

Frisco, July 17

9:30 p.m., Barkley Ballroom, 610 Main St. Fresh off winning Beale Street’s Battle of the Bands, Illinois’ Avon Dale is on their first national tour. Don’t miss these soon-to-be famous rockers.

Campfire Cone Class

Breckenridge, July 17

6 p.m., Beyond Backpacking Headquarters, 1760 Airport Rd. Unit C. One hour prior to the Community Campfire make ooey gooey delicious Campfire Cone snacks to be cooked in the coals for dessert. Also making easy fire starters from common household materials. $5 per person covers all ingredients/materials. Event is free for Adventure Club members. Afterwards carpool/caravan to a Community Campfire on Tiger Road, a free social gathering for children through adults. Bring a chair, a snack, and a story.
