Beethoven Piano Concerto presented by the NRO

Breckenridge, July 30

7:30 p.m., Breckenridge Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave. The National Repertory Orchestra will be led from the piano by Jeffrey Kahane as he performs Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4. Kahane will then conduct the orchestra as they present Mahler’s Symphony no. 1 ‘Titan.’ $25-$40, $7/youth 18 & under.

Summer Wednesday Historic Lunchtime Lecture Series

Frisco, July 30

Guided Nature Hike

9:30 a.m., Frisco Day Lodge, 621 Recreation Way. Hike with others and learn more about the Peninsula Recreation Area flora and fauna while enjoying spectacular scenery. Hike is easy to moderate in ability and will be 2 hours in duration. Reservations are required by calling (970) 668-2558. $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Pets welcome on leash.

High Line Railroad Park

Breckenridge, July 30 to Aug. 3

11 a.m. to 4 p.m., High Line Railroad Park, 189 Boreas Pass Road. See Engine No. 9 on the original narrow-gauge track that came into Breckenridge over Boreas Pass and a restored rotary snowplow. Learn about the history of the railroad and how it transformed the town.
