Robert Daniel Pearson

Robert Daniel Pearson, passed away at his home in Canon City, Colorado, on Jan, 1, 2015. Bob was a Colorado native, born in Englewood, April 26, 1929. He lived in Colorado his entire life, growing up and going to school in Colorado Springs. In 1952 he married Shirley Jean Cole, and they had three children, Michelle, Ryan and Ricky. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and worked on many jobs in the Colorado Springs area, including the Air Force Academy, and Norad. In 1968 he moved his Family to Silverthorne, Colorado, for the construction of the Eisenhower Tunnel, and later started his own trucking business, Fast Bobby’s trucking. He was a member of the Summit County Elks and was a well known local guy. In 1977 he and Shirley moved to Meeker, Colorado, and then in 1978 to Leadville. He and Shirley divorced in 1981. He continued to live in Leadville, driving for Lloyd Cole Trucking and later for Alpine Rock in Breckenridge in 1984. In 1985 he married his second wife, Consuelo Underhill. They moved back to Silverthorne and in 1990 bought a house in Canon City. Bob continued to drive for Alpine Rock for another 10 years. He loved driving that truck. He worked till he was 70 and failing eyesight would not allow him to work anymore, then retired in Canon City. Consuelo preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2008.

Bob is survived by his children, Michelle Burk of Colorado Springs, R. Ryan Pearson of Canon City, Ricky Pearson and Katie of Grand Junction; granddaughters Jessi Pongratz and Joe of Estacada, Oregon, Tierny Pearson of Oak Creek, Colorado, and Meghan Armijo and Juan of Aurora, Colorado; and one great-grandson, Jaden Pearson. Stepsons Marciano Vasquez and Connie of Los Angeles, California, Michael Vasquez of Leadville, Colorado, Sam Watson and Anya of Des Moines, Iowa, and step granddaughters Kandra Lykins and David of Westminster, Colorado, and Roxanne and Christine Vasquez of Los Angeles, and several step great-grandchildren. No services are planned at this time. A memorial celebrating the life of Consuelo and Robert will be held in Leadville in the spring.
