Breckenridge Creative Arts will present Americana music icon and multi-Grammy Award winner Lyle Lovett and His Acoustic Group on Sunday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. Tickets are $75, with limited VIP seating available at $95. VIP tickets include priority seating in the first four rows and a pre-performance cocktail reception.

A singer, composer and actor, Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.

Celebrated for his distinctive voice and easygoing charisma, Lovett has received four Grammy Awards, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album, the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award and was recently named the Texas State Musician by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

“Whether he’s backed by his Large Band or his Acoustic Group, Lovett always surrounds himself with superb musicians,” states National Public Radio. “Lovett’s been at this for nigh on 30 years and remains at the top of his game.”

Lovett has been touring in support of his album “Release Me” since its release in 2012. The album was No. 1 for several weeks on the Billboard Americana charts and is described as quintessential Lyle. “Release Me” features a smart collection of originals and songs written by some of his favorite songwriters that show not only the breadth of this legend’s deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most infectious and fascinating musicians in popular music.

The Breckenridge engagement of Lyle Lovett and His Acoustic Group is part of a new performing arts series titled BCA Presents, a program of year-round concerts, lectures and special events presented and hosted by Breckenridge Creative Arts.
