On Monday, May 30, Dillon and Breckenridge will hold Memorial Day services to honor the deaths of active military members.

Dillon will host a ceremony at the Dillon Cemetery at 10 a.m. featuring the Summit Concert Band. Event organizers welcome the public to honor and remember a special someone from their lives. People are also encouraged to bring in their old flags if they wish to have them retired properly. Boy Scouts will be at the event to present the colors and hold the flag retirement ceremony.

The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance will be recognizing the services that were sacrificed by our local veterans by holding a ceremony at the Valley Brook Cemetery located at 2000 Airport Road. Beginning at 9 a.m., this free event will include refreshments and a celebration of having the cemetery being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A wreath laying and a playing of Taps will also be included in the ceremony.
