Participants in Leadership Summit graduated in May following nine-months of professional leadership training classes.
The program, offered through Colorado Mountain College, brings together a diverse group of locals representing a variety of business sectors, including financial services, education, health care, the arts, community and government organizations and the ski industry. Participants receive intensive training, active networks and meaningful resources to shape their careers, innovate within their companies and engage in community change during nine full-day classes held from September through May at host sites throughout Summit County.
“The unique format of Leadership Summit makes our community the classroom,” said Suzanne Price, program director for Leadership Summit and director of Customized Business Services for Colorado Mountain College, in a news release. “Topics and hosting locations change as the issues, challenges and opportunities of our community change.”
On May 17 the 2013 class was recognized during a ceremony and reception at CMC’s Breckenridge campus. Tony Cammarata, director of Ski Patrol for Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, was among this year’s graduating class of 13 students.
“In addition to making life-long friendships, I also enhanced my connection to other community leaders, broadened my knowledge of Summit County, and strengthened my leadership skills through monthly exploration of diverse leadership styles,” Cammarata said in the release.
The 2014 Leadership Summit begins in September, providing a new crop of students the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the 2013 class to build new contacts and strong relationships with community-minded people.
“This year’s class is an impressive group of dedicated and visionary leaders who share a desire to make our community a great place to live and work,” Price said in the release. “As our newest group of Leadership Summit alumni, they join other alumni who have gone on to take expanded leadership roles in the workplace, serve on local task forces and non-profit boards and run for public office.”
