3:30-5:30 p.m., Main Street and Adams, Breckenridge. Bring the kids for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, indoor activities and a family-friendly bonfire at the Gold Run Nordic Center on Tiger Road. All activities are free.

Free Copper Ambassador Snowshoe Tours

Copper Mountain, Jan. 6 to April 13

10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Copper Mountain Resort. Join the Copper Mountain Resort Ambassadors for free snowshoe tours through forests and meadows at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Snowshoe rentals available. Please sign up at Guest Services, call (970) 968-2318 ext 45386.

Winter Conditioning Class

Breckenridge, Jan. 6

5:45 p.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Rd., Breckenridge. Winter Conditioning prepares participants for repeated ski runs, Nordic ski marathons, all-day snowshoe hikes, and the general challenges that accompany winter sports. This is a high intensity circuit-based class that includes plyometrics, strength, endurance and power work. You work in every direction, at varying speeds in each workout. A base fitness level including strength training and cardio should be established before the session for maximum benefit.

Women’s Skate Ski Clinic Drop-in

Breckenridge, Jan. 6

9:30 a.m., Gold Run Nordic Center, 200 Clubhouse Dr, Breckenridge. This three-week series of beginning skate ski classes is designed to teach women the basic movements of the skate technique. The clinic is taught by women for women. Drop-ins welcome or take the full clinic, (970) 453-1734.

Meet and greet an Avi Dog

Keystone, Jan. 6

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Summit Area Dercum, Keystone. Meet an Avi Dog and their handler. Receive an Avi Dog trading card and learn about Rapid Deployment and what it takes to be a furry member of Keystone Ski Patrol.
