A bit of snow on the way for Summit County
Ryan Summerlin December 21, 2009
FRISCO – Forecasters are calling for anywhere from 4 to 9 inches of snow between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning in Summit County. According to Robert Koopmeiners, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Boulder, Summit County has a 60-70 percent chance of snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday.
“It’s mostly light snow – we’re not expecting huge amounts,” Koopmeiners said.
Even so, any skier or snowboarder will likely be happy to get some fresh stuff on top of what’s on the ground already.
The chance for snow drops to 40 percent on Thursday, with only a 20 percent chance for snow on Christmas Day. For the weekend, it’ll dry out more and warm up, with a chance for more snow returning early next week.
Temperatures over the next few days will range from lows in the teens to highs in the 30s.
