Free home-buyer education class

Have you ever wondered what steps are involved in purchasing a home? Come find out at our free home-buyer education class today from 12:30-5 p.m. in the Mount Royal Room at the County Commons in Frisco. You will learn the basics, from A to Z, of what it takes to buy a home, as now sure is a great time to do so. The class is free and is sponsored by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and put on by the Summit Combined Housing Authority with help from local volunteers, who will walk you through the lending process, real estate transaction, title company portion and home inspection. There will also be information on current down-payment assistance programs and much more. Snacks will be provided. Please pre-register so that we know how many people to expect; call Joy at (970) 423-7041 or email with questions or to register for this great class.

Seminar on digital photography

This two-part seminar will address the basics of digital photography, from downloading pictures from your camera to your computer, to organizing and naming them, to making some basic (but important) enhancements to them and even showing them as slide shows on your computer or HDTV. Bring your cameras and computers to work along with us, if you wish. At a pace that all can handle, we’ll demonstrate the techniques using a computer running Windows 7 along with the free photo software package Windows Photo Gallery. The seminar is scheduled for the two Saturdays of May 11 and May 25 from 9-11 a.m. at the Senior Center in Frisco. The cost for each session is $5 (and you can attend one or both sessions). Each session is limited to 25, so please call the Senior Center to pre-register, (970) 668-2940. Walk-ins will need to be turned away if the class limit is reached on the day of the seminar.
