Improve your business defense: Plan now to keep more of your money later

If business defense is about keeping more of the money that you earn, then you need to arm yourself with tools to plan your strategy. With the flurry of recent changes to the tax code, make sure you are armed with knowledge regarding business tax issues for this year and those coming up on the horizon. This is about mitigating tax increases for 2013, such as putting medical insurance plans in place that can help reduce your adjusted gross income and other recommendations that will help you when it comes time to file your 2013 taxes. Part of the Summit Independent Business Alliance’s business education series Business Builders Toolbox, this session will be presented by Larry Stone of Stone CPA on Wednesday, noon to 1 p.m. at the Summit County Community and Senior Center, Loveland Room, 151 Peak One Blvd., Frisco. There is no charge for the event. Tell your colleagues! Sponsored by SIBA, Krystal 93 and Imagine That Creative. Thanks to Colorado Small Business Development Center and Colorado Mountain College for their support.

Breck Dining Passports

The Breckenridge Restaurant Association (BRA) is offering spring dining specials at participating restaurants as a fundraiser for its scholarship program. In 2013 alone, the BRA awarded about $9,000 in scholarships to local high school students. In order to replenish this fund, the $10 donation for the passports will go toward the scholarship program. This also allows the BRA to support other community events and programs, including the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, the Dew Tour, various concerts and events, customer service training and the culinary kitchen at Colorado Mountain College. Breckenridge Dining Passports are each valid for two people and get specials valid now through June 13. Passports are available at the Breckenridge Welcome Center and participating restaurants.
