Joint mixer: DBA and Summit Chamber

Come join the fun and meet new people at the joint DBA and Summit Chamber mixer on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Old Dillon School House at 403 LaBonte in Dillon. Delicious BBQ is being provided by the world-famous Arapahoe Café and BonnieQ BBQ. Dillon Ridge Liquor has helped with the wine. Come prepared to join a brainstorming session on “How to connect with your customers,” and bring plenty of business cards. A silent auction will be held for a private-chef-prepared dinner for four in your home, offered by the Bountiful Pantry — get your friends together to bid on this amazing treat! Zero waste warriors needed

Join us at the 2013 Colorado BBQ Challenge in Frisco on Friday and Saturday. We need your help to keep this event a Zero Waste Event by educating event attendees how to compost and recycle. In exchange for his or her time, each volunteer will receive a supercool Waste Warrior t-shirt and 10 Hog Back bucks. Alpine Bank shred day

Please join us at our Alpine Bank Dillon location on Thursday, June 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for our annual Shred Day! Time to get rid of all of those unwanted documents, and the best part of it all ... it’s FREE! There is no charge to shred up to seven boxes per person, and all of the shredded paper will be recycled! Whether it be old bank statements, medical records or old tax documents bring them by. Cooking Matters for Teens

The Family & Intercultural Resource Center and CMC are offering Cooking Matters for Teens. The five-session course, held Thursdays and Sundays from June 9-27, is aimed at youth from ages 12-18. We will teach basic safety and nutrition, prepare meals together, send participants home with groceries and have a Class Cook Off on the final day. Father Dyer Church needs items

Save your retired treasures or unwanted household items for the Father Dyer Church Treasure Sale which is scheduled for Saturday, July 20. Proceeds of this event support the local human service programs of the church. Donated items will be accepted during the week of July 15. Are you ready to bloom? Lake Dillon Theatre’s support group, The Cast of Characters (COC), is staging a colorful, spectacular “FLOWERAMA” to brighten your deck and grow The Lake Dillon Theatre. Fresh and direct from Denver’s Welby Gardens, beautiful patio planters and hanging baskets, priced right and suited to our mountain environment (sun or shade) await your “casting call.” Audition our 12-inch colorful mixed-bloom hanging and patio pots in many varieties to suit the spots on your stage on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or until our “summer stock” is gone) at Frisco’s Pink Plant Place, N. Fourth Avenue, between Main and Galena. At $35 a pot, our prices get even better when you become a “Character” (a member of COC!).
