North Branch Library closure for maintenance
SILVERTHORNE — The North Branch Library will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 30, through 9 a.m., on Monday, September 9. Our building is receiving a facelift. Crews will be replacing the floor tiles in the entryway, hall, bathroom, and meeting room entry, as well as the kitchen during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience, and would like to encourage you to visit our other two locations, at the County Commons, Frisco and 504 Airport Drive, Breckenridge.

"Have Book – Will Travel" Summer Reading Finale!
SILVERTHORNE – After a summer of traveling through the magic of books and your imagination, this year's Teen Summer Reading Program is winding down. The grand finale will take place on Tuesday, July 30, from 2-5 p.m., at the North Branch Library, 651 Center Circle, Silverthorne, with food, games, prizes and more! Each eight hours read and marked on your "passport" earns free books and prizes, along with an entry into the grand prize drawing for a mini laptop and a $100 ITunes gift card.

Leadership Summit info meeting
Applications are being accepted for Leadership Summit Class of 2014. Local adults interested in collaborative leadership and community service are encouraged to apply. Attend an information meeting to learn about this year's nine-month program, scheduled from September through May. Mingle with program alumni and administrators over coffee and pastries. Guided tour of Valley Brook Cemetery
Breckenridge's 1882 Valley Brook Cemetery is being nominated for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Join the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance for a free guided tour of the cemetery and learn about the National Register program. Tuesday Twilight Trail Project
Spend happy hour on the trail today with Friends of the Dillon Ranger District and Go-Lite. Volunteers will meet at 5:30 p.m. at upper Salt Lick Trail (off Wilderness and Buffalo Drive) and work until 8 p.m. A full schedule of Tuesday Twilight opportunities for the rest of the summer are available on our website. After-hours business mixer
Summit Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the monthly after-hours business mixer with some education opportunities, great prizes to be raffled off, great door prizes and a lot of great food! Come join us at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne — just north of Target on July 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Members get in for $5, non-members $15 — happy-hour prices on drinks. Ten ATVs are needed for a day-long donation for Saturday, Aug. 10, for soldiers from Ft. Carson's Wounded Warrior Transition Unit who will be spending the weekend in Breckenridge. ATV owners may drop the vehicles off for use by a solider or they may join the ride that is being planned. These soldiers enjoy meeting and recreating with local citizens.
