Big-city comedy comes to Breckenridge

The Breck Comedy Extravaganza will bring four national and international comedians-as well as the evening’s host Chuck Roy from ComedyWorks in Denver-to the Riverwalk Center Thursday night.
For the past three years, KSMT “The Mountain” has been putting together Spring Break events around Breckenridge. This year, the station wanted to do something big by bringing in some heavy hitting comedy. “Since we don’t have a comedy club in the county and the shows are always so entertaining, we decided to put this event together for locals and visitors,” explains NRC365 market manager Jen Radueg. “In addition to this event, we’re hosting weekly comedy nights every Thursday through April 12th at various locations around Breckenridge.”
This first-ever Breck Comedy Extravaganza is entitled “It’s all downhill from here…” and features five internationally recognized comedians for just $20 ($25 at the door). Doors open at 6 p.m. so get there early to get a good seat. Regular comedy goers may know that front row patrons are subject to comedic interactivity. Tickets may also be purchased from Slopeside Cigars at 105 Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge. As with many stand-up comedy shows, this show may not be appropriate for ages under 18.
Featured talent includes: Chris Fairbanks, Godfrey, Dan Levy, and Eddie Ifft. Fairbanks is gaining national attention for his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and “Reality Bites Back,” as well as on “Last Comic Standing.” He’s currently a host and writer for Fuel TV’s “The Daily Habit.”
Godfrey is known for his standup as well as his television appearances on FX’s hit show “Louie,” “30 Rock,” “Soul Plane,” and “Chelsea Lately.” He’s a regular on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. Levy is also a regular on “Premium Blend” and Chelsea Lately’s round table; as well as on “Comedy Central Presents” and “The Late Late Show.” Ifft is a quick witted international performer with credits including Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” BET, VH1, “Chelsea Lately,” and his own Comedy Central special. He has performed alongside comedy icons including Dave Chapelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Robin Williams.
“I’m so excited to be doing comedy in the place where three of my friends have blown out their ACLs snowboarding,” said comedian Dan Levy. Hang on to your ticket stub as it is valid for one free beer at Napper Tandy’s in Breckenridge after the event.
