Breck passes solar panel policy
Ryan Summerlin March 28, 2013
The town of Breckenridge Tuesday passed revising existing policies on where and how solar panels can be installed in the downtown conservation district.
The new law allows for solar installations that are sensitive to the historic character of the district. Solar panels have to be located so as to reduce their visibility from public streets and to limit their impacts to historic structures.
The measure is intended to balance the town’s interest in sustainable and clean-energy initiatives with the priority of maintaining the character of the downtown core.
