Bruns: Think, and then vote
October 31, 2012
Recently Debra Irvine, Republican candidate for State Representative, and Randy Baumgardner, vying for state Senate, touted the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB’s) “unprecedented endorsement.” I’ve explored who these “unprecedented endorsers” are.
It turns out that the NFIB is a front for Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS political action committee which contributes more than 98 percent of its funds to conservative Republicans! The endorsement is clearly along party lines and has little to do with “business” in Colorado.
Indeed, the NFIB was the lead plaintiff in the suit to overturn the Affordable Care Act, which the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision (when Chief Justice John Roberts cast the deciding vote) refused to do!
Here’s my question: how uninformed do these candidates think Colorado voters are?
State Representative Millie Hamner, going for another term, and state Senate candidate Emily Tracy are proven leaders who can work across the aisle to preserve our Colorado values.
Please think … and then vote!
