CDOT plans I-70 lane closures at Eisenhower, Twin Tunnels

Daily News staff report

Drivers should expect single lane closures on Interstate 70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel and Twin Tunnels through the month of November.

One lane will be closed for routine maintenance at the Eisenhower Tunnel from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday between milemarker 212-219. The left lane will also be closed between mileposts 216 and 218 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until noon on Fridays for cable rail construction.

The eastbound bore of the Twin Tunnels will be closed from 6 p.m. through 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday through the remainder of the month while CDOT crews complete backfill grouting and flushing work in the tunnels. The westbound bore will be reconfigured to accommodate one lane of traffic in each direction. Delays are possible, and oversize loads will not be permitted during work hours, according to a CDOT statement.
