The final night of the weekly Comedy Night series is set for Thursday at the Base 9 Bar in Breck’s Beaver Run. The show goes on at 7 p.m. with a $10 cover charge at the door ($5 with a Beaver Run local’s card).
Comedian Chuck Roy is the host of the event. Roy is well known in the Denver comedy scene as a must-see and has been hosting comedy nights in Breckenridge all season. The headliner for this finale event is Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald has a stunningly diverse background as a rock-and-roll bouncer for bands such as the Rolling Stones, The Who and The Police, a 25-year veterinary medicine career, and more than 20 years performing as a professional stand-up comedian. He has appeared numerous times on Animal Planet, as well as on the NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The Today Show with Matt Lauer, and most recently on CBS’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Fitzgerald has opened for the likes of Bob Hope, Diana Ross, The Temptations and the Neville Brothers.
“This is the final of six nights that we’ve done,” said Jen Radueg, marketing manager for event sponsors KSMT, NRC365. “We work with High Country Comedy to bring these up here. This year we decided to do a six night comedy night run since they have been so successful in years past.”
The Base 9 Bar is located on the main level of Beaver Run, and parking is free.
