Evett: Thanks to Frisco for putting on Fall Fest
Ryan Summerlin October 3, 2012
On behalf of Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD), I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the town of Frisco for putting together Fall Fest on Sept. 8, a new street party event to kick off Frisco’s Autumn Spectacular. With beautiful weather and a great turnout, Fall Fest exemplified what makes Summit County worth celebrating. Event proceeds go directly to FDRD’s programs and our ongoing efforts to foster community stewardship of our local national forest lands, and the spirit of celebration will be carried on as we head into winter and start planning for 2013.
Backcountry Brewery’s continued generosity and donation of beer for Fall Fest is greatly appreciated, as is the support of sponsors True Value Hardware, Stihl, Summit Daily News, TV8, Holiday Inn and KSMT. Another special thanks to our amazing volunteers who helped make the day such a success!
I’d also like to extend another thanks to the town of Frisco for hosting FDRD’s annual Volunteer Celebration party at the Frisco Day Lodge on Sept. 12. The space was a perfect place to host over 90 volunteers for an evening of food, prizes and heartfelt appreciation for those who contribute thousands of hours each year in support of our programs. Thanks also go out to the 40 + businesses that contributed prizes, Oskar Blues Brewery for providing refreshments, and for the great folks at Peak One and Wellington Neighborhoods for helping cover the cost of food from Bonnie-Q-BBQ.
As we enjoy the last moments of our fleeting fall and head into what we hope will prove to be an epic winter, thanks to all of the partners and individuals who contributed to these two events and cheers to our volunteers for a great 2012 season!
