Gerard: Karn is a strong voice for women
Ryan Summerlin November 3, 2012
Karn Stiegelmeier has served Summit County well over the last four years. Her background in public education brings a much needed perspective to the Board of County Commissioners. She is a strong environmentalist whose views better reflect the views of Summit County residents than do her opponent’s views. She is aware of the needs of small businesses and she has educated herself on transportation and economic development issues. It is ironic that her challenger says he wants more “diversity” on the BOCC, yet he wants to unseat the one woman on the Board. At a time when male politicians, both nationally and locally, are making decisions which negatively impact women’s lives, we need a strong voice for women. Karn is that voice.
