Lindstrom: Support Karn Stiegelmeier for county commissioner
October 12, 2012
I am supporting Karn Stiegelmeier for District 3 Summit County Commissioner in the General Election in November. She is by far the best candidate for the job.
Karn is a Colorado native and graduated from Golden High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a former school teacher and school administrator in California and Colorado. She and her husband own and operate a very successful business and have several locations along the I-70 corridor in the central mountains. In addition to being a wife she is also a mother of a teenage daughter.
Karn is an activist in many different areas. I first met her many years ago through my work with the Sierra Club and our common interest in trying to have sustained growth with the smallest possible impact on our wonderful mountain environment. She has always been proactive in working to ensure that we have the very best local government regardless of political party or other affiliations. She is a tireless worker in her business, as a wife and as a mother. Karn has her priorities in line with providing the very best and most responsive government possible.
Karn has been involved in government at all levels. In Summit County, in the region and at the state Capitol. Her passion is to work very hard to provide the best representation for all of the citizens of Summit County.
I also feel that it is very important to have a woman on the Board of County Commissioners. I am over 70 years old and have learned that women have a special type of wisdom in making decisions. Women have an intuition that men do not have. When the Board of County Commissioners are making decisions I can take some comfort knowing that there is a woman on the board adding comments and guidance as they impact a huge amount of tax dollars and the entire resident population of Summit County.
We need to keep Karn on the Board of County Commissioners with your vote for her in this General Election.
Gary M. Lindstrom,
Summit County Commissioner 1994-2004
