Longtime Summit County local David Shell dies

Longtime Summit County resident, David Shell, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, at the age of 54. He lived a full and active life. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; his daughter, Katie; Kitty (pup); his father, Kenny; seven brothers and sisters; their spouses; nieces; nephews and his many friends.
He grew up in Missouri and has called Colorado home since 1980. He served in the United States Air Force, attended Mesa State and graduated from Metro State. He had the need for speed, enjoyed drag racing, snowmobiling, dirt biking and was known as the “Shell Answer Man.”
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in memoriam at Alpine Bank under the Shell name.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of his life on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne, starting at noon. Dress will be casual. Guests are asked to bring photos and stories to share.
