On Saturday, May 27, at approximately 5:43 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a harassment call in the 500 block of Ryan Gulch Road in Wildernest.

At some point one suspect who had barricaded himself alone in a room stated that he was armed with a gun, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. A safety perimeter around the area was established and the public was asked to stay away from this area.

While negotiations were under way, sheriff’s detectives were working to obtain an arrest warrant. Upon being taken into custody at approximately 11:37 p.m., Justin Michael King, a 26-year-old male, was arrested on charges of domestic violence; stalking; violation of bail bond conditions; felony menacing; and violation of a protection order, according to the release. King was transported to the Summit County Detentions Facility and held on no bond until seen by a judge.
