Pitman: Displeased with Thorsen’s letter
Ryan Summerlin October 31, 2012
Nancy Thorsen’s letter is one of the most vituperative and caustic I have ever had the displeasure of reading. I am left to wonder for exactly which of the 40,000 denominations of the Christian religion she claims to speak. Ms. Thorsen exudes the intolerance, narrow mindedness and bigotry that is way too prevalent within a few segments of our society. Her underlying tone is, fortunately, neither representative of my Christian friends or the way I was raised in a Christian household. I can only conclude that Ms. Thorsen is a dominionist, and that her preference would be to turn the United States into a theologically administered country like, say, Iran.
Reading Ms. Thorsen’s letter leaves me to paraphrase H.L. Mencken: “In my morning SDN I always get soothing proof that there are men left who are even worse asses that I am.”
