U.S. Rep. Jared Polis, D-Boulder, will secure a third term representing Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. As of press time, Polis had garnered 55 percent to Kevin Lundberg’s 40 percent.
The 37-year-old Polis, who made millions creating online start-ups, defeated Republican challenger Lundberg.
Polis said Tuesday that he is excited to get back to work in Congress.
“I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working to get this country moving forward.”
Polis said he will put his energy toward “re-igniting the American Dream” by making sure everyone has access to opportunity, specifically higher education.
The 2nd Congressional District, which includes all of Eagle, Grand, Summit, Clear Creek, Gilpin and Broomfield counties and bleeds into Weld, Adams and Jefferson counties, has been continuously controlled by Democrats since 1975.
