Real Estate At A Glance: Single-family home sales

After two sub-par months, single-family home sales returned to the nine-year average number in November. For the year-to-date, sales are up by nearly 20 percent over last year. The average sale price for Summit County homes is $804,600 through November, 2.5 percent higher than last year-to-date.
With supply and demand nearing balance, the single-family market has returned to health ahead of the overall market.
There are 1,531 properties for sale as of Dec. 31. Expiring listings will move the number well below 1,500 to begin 2013.
