FBI joins investigation into shooting of Colorado cyclist

The Associated Press

WINDSOR, Colo. — The FBI has joined the investigation into the shooting death of a man bicycling on a rural road in northern Colorado.

Police in Windsor announced Tuesday they were getting help from the FBI in the death of 48-year-old John Jacoby. He was shot twice and his body was found by a passing driver Monday.

Neither the police nor FBI released details about why the agency was now involved.

Police have been looking into whether the shooting of the part-time town worker and grocery bagger could be related to the shooting of a woman driving on Interstate 25 near town last month. She was shot in the neck and managed to pull over and call for help.

The Coloradoan reports that Jacoby didn’t drive and got around by bike.
