Obituary: Marco Tulio Reifsteck

Marco Tulio Reifsteck

Marco Tulio Reifsteck, of Frisco, Colorado, and Lake Delton, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2015. Marco was born on Sept. 1, 1996, beloved son of Bertie and Dennis Reifsteck and caring brother to David Reifsteck. Marco was a senior at Summit High School in Frisco where he enjoyed playing music and sports. Marco loved basketball, football, baseball, bowling, golf and snowboarding, and was a natural athlete with an uncanny knack for analyzing the sports he watched and participated in. Marco loved music, dancing and playing the violin, and he also started playing the stand-up bass. He recently returned from the school band trip to Europe for which he helped coordinate and promote fundraising to help all of the students go on the trip. Marco had a great laugh, and a great sense of humor that was shared and enjoyed by his friends and family. Marco was accepted to Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and recently received the Brad Odekirk Scholarship, Town of Frisco Scholarship, Frisco Elementary Scholarship, and the National Repertory Orchestra Scholarship.

Marco and his family spent summers in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, where they enjoyed swimming, shooting hoops, golfing, playing cards and having fun with cousins and friends. Marco and David joined their father playing music at local shows, and helped their mother with her dance recitals. Most recently, Marco helped film and produce videos for various school events and performances.

Marco is survived by his parents, Dennis and Bertie Reifsteck, and his brother David. Marco was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Alberta Canepa, his grandfather Paul Reifsteck, his aunt Mary Canepa Gallagher, and his brother Dennis Lee (“Bud”) Reifsteck, Jr.

Marco was loved and will be missed by his grandmother, Orpha Reifsteck of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and his many aunts and uncles, including Karen (Reifsteck) and Chris Peterson of Evergreen, Colorado; Doug (Lynn) Reifsteck of Lafayette, California; David and Debbie Reifsteck of Middleton, Wisconsin; Bill and Christine (Reifsteck) Gissalof Rockford, Illinois, Chris Canepa of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michael Gallagher, Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio; Antoinette and John Scully of Ennis, Montana; Jim and Marian Canepa of Elkton, Florida; Jane Canepa and Mike Kolodny of Chicago, Illinois; Claire and Tom Simon of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Tony Canepa, Jr. and Sheila Pagett of Denver; Joe Canepa of Denver; Diane Canepa and Paul Olson of Breckenridge, Colorado; and Tom and Sue Canepa of Oak Park, Illinois.

Marco shared a special relationship with his Reifsteck and Canepa cousins and will be deeply missed by Zoe and Kyle Peterson, Carly and Anton Reifsteck; Daylon and Troy Reifsteck, Jessica Gissal (Andy Wojnicz), Matt and Jessica Gissal, and Adam Gissal, and his Canepa cousins, Kimberly Canepa, Kate (Gallagher) and John Cicela, Michael and Jana Gallagher, Molly (Gallagher)and Matt Margosian, Betsy (Scully) and Matt Ricketts, Erin (Scully) and John Osier, Joe Canepa, Jimmy Canepa and Ashley Sedmak, Amy (Canepa) and David Gordon, Charlie Canepa (of Elkton, Florida), ChristoperJonsson, Pam (Simon) and Mike Kruse, Anne (Simon) and John Lemon, Jon Simon, Susan Simon, Tess Olson, Paige Olson, Vince Canepa, Tony Canepa, and Charlie Canepa (of Oak Park, Illinois).

A Memorial Service will be held at Lord of the Mountains Church in Dillon, Colorado, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations for a scholarship in Marco’s name to Marco TulioReifsteck Fund, c/o Reifsteck Family, P.O. Box 3401, Dillon, CO 80435. A Memorial Service will also be held later this summer in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
