Snowboarder seriously injured at Buttermilk in Aspen
A 20-year-old man who was riding a snowboard suffered a serious injury at Buttermilk on Sunday after hitting a tree, according to Aspen Skiing Co.
The incident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. off of Homestead Road and Lower Savio on the lower portion of Main Buttermilk, according to Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle.
“It was a serious injury,” Hanle said in an email. “Patrol responded immediately, performed advanced life-support measures and transported him to an ambulance.”
The man was not wearing a helmet, Hanle said. No further details of the incident or the man’s condition were available Sunday evening.
Hanle said he didn’t believe the victim is a resident of the Roaring Fork Valley.
