Soldiers in Afghanistan care about our kids
Ryan Summerlin February 9, 2013
In November, students in the middle school wrote letters to soldiers in Afghanistan. The Rotary Club of Summit County (RCSC) Troop Support Program mailed them off to our “Summit County Troops” currently deployed in Afghanistan. Despite their busy work schedules, soldiers took time to respond to the children’s letters and answered their questions. These people are based in a perilous location and their work is dangerous and exhausting, yet they have time to give to our kids. They deserve our support.
Please help the RCSC Troop Support Program to say thank you to these troops, not only for their kindness to our children, but also for their sacrifice to our nation. Packages will be going off to Afghanistan shortly and we would appreciate donations to help pay for the goodies we send and for the postage which has increased recently. Although each box is addressed to a specific soldier, those concerned share them with their buddies. They love receiving mail and packages from the States.
To support this effort, checks would be gratefully received at Summit County Rotary Charitable Fund (for Troop Support), PO Box 4401, Frisco, CO 80443. SCRCF is a 501 (c) (3) charity, so donations are tax deductible.
