Summit volleyball season comes to a close with 2 loses at 4A Regionals on Nov. 4

For the first time in several seasons, the Summit High varsity volleyball team made the cut for the 4A Regional Tournament and traveled to Longmont for the opening round, a two-match attempt against host Silver Creek and Palmer Ridge of Monument. The Tigers (10-12 overall entering regionals) needed commanding wins against both teams to take the day and advance to the first round of the state tournament.

It wasn't meant to be. Summit lost both matches, first to Silver Creek in three (15-25, 14-25, 14-25) and then to Palmer Ridge in four (unavailable at press time) for the end of a roller-coaster season. The Silver Creek girls remained undefeated in front of their home crowd, beating Palmer Ridge in three commanding sets (25-7, 25-15, 25-16) to punch their ticket to the state tourney on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12.
