TransWorld SNOWBoarding TransAm rail jam returns to Keystone Resort
February 1, 2014
The TransWorld SNOWboarding TransAm rail jam competition — now in its 12th year — returns to Keystone Resort Sunday, Feb. 2, for one of 11 stops on the tour.
The competition gives up-and-coming snowboarders from around Colorado the opportunity to compete for prizes and a chance at top honors.
Event registration and rider check-in will run from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Mountain House Base Area in Keystone Village. The competition will kick off at 11 in the mini-park. Contestants will compete in a jam-session format, allowing them to hit the customized TransAM course features as many times as possible in one hour.
Judges will decide who has what it takes to move on to the finals, which begin promptly at 1 p.m. Winners will be crowned at 2:30 p.m. at an awards party in the Silverthorne Room of the Mountain House Base Lodge.
Event organizers insist the competition will be finished in time for Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The competition setup will consist of three lines highlighted by unique features developed specifically for the TransAm event. Riders will throw down on what course organizers are calling “something new and different.” The setup also will give spectators great views of the riders as they hit the mini-park.
Event organizers encourage anyone interested to enter and see how they stack up in a friendly competitive atmosphere.
