Young again: Scenes from the 2017 Summit Count 50+ Winter Games
Special to the Daily
If sliding and shuffling through a snowy obstacle course were an Olympic sport, Summit County seniors would sweep the podium.
Last weekend, roughly 70 men and women from Summit and beyond came to Keystone and Frisco for the annual Summit County 50+ Winter Games. The tradition celebrated 37 years this season and was one of the best yet, with two days of competition on the slopes and pond, plus the always-popular opening-night dinner on Sunday. Folks got serious for the gate-crashing on Monday morning, and then it was all laughs for the obstacle-course race later that afternoon. The Winter Games wrapped up on Tuesday with Nordic skiing, a biathlon and the must-see snowball toss competition.
As always, the Winter Games raised funds for the Summit County Community and Senior Center. Thanks to everyone who came out for another successful year!
