The SCO is a nonprofit, volunteer orchestra in Summit County under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Evans. It is composed of fine musicians from Summit and surrounding counties. Our mission is to promote joy and appreciation of classical music in the community through offering free concerts and providing educational opportunities for young musicians. If interested, call Ann at (970) 262-1880.
Basses and tenors are still needed as part of a community choir performing in the concert “From Bach to Beatles 2012.” The concert will include repertoire for choir from the sacred music of J. S. Bach to music of the Beatles, with many choral pieces in between. Pianist/organist Leonard Rhodes and director Chris Keelan invite you to participate in this performance which is designed to create an enjoyable choral performance opportunity within a limited time frame. This session will offer singers a chance to ascertain the level of difficulty and degree of individual preparation required. There will be four three-hour rehearsals each Saturday in October preparing for the Oct. 28 performance. This event is jointly sponsored by Summit Music and Arts and the Breckenridge Music Festival.
