The Breckenridge Festival of Film hosts its annual Hollywood & Wine fundraiser today at Beaver Run Resort. The event features food, wines, independent short films and a silent auction. Tickets are $35 and proceeds support the 33rd annual Breckenridge Festival of Film, taking place this year Sept. 19-22. Today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Outlets at Silverthorne is hosting the seventh annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. As part of this event Silverthorne Police Department’s Adopt an Angel program will hold a scavenger hunt with participating stores throughout the Outlets. Participants in the hunt will win extra chances to participate in the $20,000 Hourly Giveaways.On Sunday, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Summit County Elks Lodge (Silverthorne) will be hosting an all-you-can-eat fundraising breakfast to benefit Silverthorne Police Department’s Adopt an Angel 2012 program. Tickets are $10 pre-purchased or $12 at the door. Children under 12 are $5 at the door. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate.

Colorado State University Extension in Summit County is accepting applications for the 2013 Colorado Master Gardener Training. This signature CSU Extension program provides a unique opportunity for local gardening enthusiasts to help their community while learning more about home gardening issues. The 2013 training will take place on Thursdays at the County Commons in Frisco, from Jan. 31 to April 4, with a volunteer orientation on April 11. The 10-week course offers comprehensive, research-based instruction in home-gardening topics, delivered via distance education and presented by CSU Extension specialists. Upon completion of training, master gardener trainees agree to contribute 50 hours of volunteer service toward home-gardening education. Cost: $250. A non-volunteer option is also available for $625, and is often chosen by professionals in the green industry as continuing education. Race of the Santas/Reindeer Run is set for Dec. 1, at 4 p.m. in the Blue River Plaza in Breckenridge. All proceeds benefit Summit County Adopt an Angel. Come out have a good time and support a great cause. Registration: $30 (Includes a santa suit, and yes, you keep the suit), $10 – if you wear your own santa suit.
