High school seniors in Colorado who demonstrate character, leadership and service are encouraged to apply for the Daniels Scholarship Program by the Thursday deadline by visiting http://www.DanielsFund.org/Apply.
Each year, approximately 250 new Daniels Scholars are selected from among thousands who apply. The reward of being selected for the program is the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education at any nonprofit college or university in the U.S, complete with financial and personal support throughout the journey.
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, students must be current high school seniors graduating during the 2012-2013 academic year from a high school in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming. They must be a current resident of one of those states. They must also demonstrate financial need and other requirements of the scholarship.
The Daniels Scholarship is not “full ride,” but is supplemental to all other financial aid resources, including Pell Grants, available to the student. After other financial resources have been applied, the Daniels Scholarship covers all required tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and a variety of other miscellaneous expenses. Students also receive a laptop computer and a printer.
