Summit Up 1-15-13: Where our cars shiver from the cold
Ryan Summerlin January 14, 2013
Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that’s pushing our car down the side of the road as our toes and fingers freeze.
It’s been a chilly couple of days here in Summit County and the ones that really seem the worse for it aren’t the plants, animals or children, but our cars.
We ran out early this morning to get the old Subaru started and pre-warmed and toasty for the drive to work. Sitting in the driver’s seat, breath frosting, our gloved hands clumsily slipped the key in the ignition and turned. Chug-chug. Silence. Chug-chug. Nope, it just wasn’t meant to be. Old Jack Frost and the engine were too cozy and didn’t want to be turned out of bed, even though we explained that it was imperative we get to the office and write this Summit Up column, beloved by its loyal crew of Millions of Summit Up readers, to warm their hearts as coffee or tea warmed their stomachs. Instead, we ended up warming the hearts of local mechanics as we joined the line of supplicants marching up to the garage in need of their expertise. Thanks guys, we appreciate it! We out.
