Summit Up 1-23-13: In the mood for some spaghetti
Ryan Summerlin January 22, 2013
Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that’s getting a li’l hungry for some Italian food, specifically spaghetti for some reason.
Maybe it’s due to this press release from the good ol’ fellas over at the Knights of Columbus Council #14045. They write thusly: “The Knights of Columbus Council #14045 held its first spaghetti dinner at the new Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church hall over in Silverthorne on Saturday, Jan. 19. Almost 70 people enjoyed a meal consisting of spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatballs, garlic bread, salad, drinks and dessert. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, men’s charitable organization with members in both St. Mary’s in Breckenridge and Our Lady of Peace in Silverthorne. Funds raised by various events support numerous organizations throughout Summit County, including Domus Pacis Family Respite, the Rotary Club community dinner, Women’s Resource Center of the Rockies, Wounded Warriors/BOEC, FIRC, Coats for Kids campaign and many others.”
The Knights would like to welcome the community to their next spaghetti shindig. It’s scheduled for Feb.16 after the 5 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of Peace. Serving will start at around 6. The cost is only $10 for adults, $5 for children age 6-12, children under 6 are free.
You heard it here first. Happy Hump Day.
