Summit Up 2-20-13: Quadricopter, anyone?
Ryan Summerlin February 19, 2013
Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that is wondering how to convince our boss to buy a RC Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Quadricopter.
The aforementioned device is about an 11 on a scale of 1-10 in awesomeness. If a helicopter is cool, a quadricopter is four times as cool. Throw in the fact that you can control the ‘copter with your iPhone, iPad or Android device and you’ve got one pretty badass machine.
According to the manufacture’s website (http://ardrone2.parrot.com/usa) the four-prop flyer has a built-in video camera that can record for two hours. We’re thinking of trying this angle with the ol’ grand pooh-bah. You see, if we can send the drone out to cover an event, it would free up another reporter to cover a different story.
MILLIONS OF SUMMIT UP:
Wouldn’t someone still have to operate the quadricopter, making your thesis of freeing up an individual to cover another story false?
SUMMIT UP: Dang, you guys are too smart! If we knew how to spell any of the Portuguese swear words our Brazilian intern taught us Tuesday we would probably throw them out your way …
MSUR: Easy there big fella. We’re just trying to save you guys the embarrassment of looking the fool when you float an idea that hasn’t been thought out.
SU: Sorry for the harsh words. We’ve been a little testy over here watching all our friends enjoy the long Presidents Day Weekend and the snow that accompanied it while we plodded away at our desks.
If you’ve got any ideas on how we could sell the quadricopter to the higher ups, by all means shoot them over to email@example.com. We can use all the inspiration you can spare.
Tenham um bom dia!
