November 3, 2012
Friends of the Dillon Ranger District was picked out of many charities by Colorado Native Lager to be a part of the Community Reinvestment Project.
The organization has a one-in-four chance of winning $20,000. Voting began Friday and will extend through Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. To vote, visit the Colorado Native Lager Facebook page.
Any funds awarded to FDRD would go toward over 50 different volunteer-powered trail improvement and ecological restoration projects on national forest lands in Summit County.
“Our efforts will improve sustainability on popular recreational trails, help close and restore unsustainable routes, replant trees and stream-side vegetation near our waterways, and engage volunteers ranging from 6 years old to 60 years young in meaningful service projects outdoors,” said Kate Vumbaco, administrative assistant for FDRD.
