Welcome Home: Find that cabin in the woods
Ryan Summerlin March 30, 2013
Welcome home, and happy Easter to all, both visitors and locals alike. I hope this weekend brings you the joy you are looking for. Be it a room full of friends and family or maybe the solitude needed after a busy week of work.
If you are here and found a rental that suits your needs, great! If you have always wanted a place of your own, that cabin in the woods, close enough to everything yet kinda tucked away, look no further, 547 “G” Road may just be that perfect place.
A 1.28-acre, south-facing property located just east of the town of Silverthorne in Ptarmigan subdivision, aka government small tracts. It has a feel of privacy and true mountain living, yet just minutes from the Silverthorne Recreation Center, the factory outlets, resturants and a couple of grocery and liquor stores.
This property has a quaint 1965 A-frame situated on the lower southeast corner of the property. It was updated in 2011 with new kitchen cabinets, carpet, tile in the bathroom and a large laundry/storage area. The patio out back is partially fenced and a great place for the dogs to play. It is a great starter cabin one could put some work into or just save up and build the home of your dreams on this property in the future.
The OWTS – onsite wastewater treatment system – on the property is engineered to accommodate a three bedroom residence. A household-use well is in place and has a double filtration system.
With proper planning, a garage may be added to store cars and all those toys you will need to get out and around Summit County’s recreation paradise. At the top of Ptarmigan subdivision is a small community park and just above that park the Ptarmigan trail leads up to the top of the mountain that is the subdivision’s name sake, Ptarmigan Peak. You will think you are Julie Andrews in the “Sound of Music” looking back at the Gore Range from Ptarmigan Peak.
At the bottom of this area is the Silverthorne rec center – an incredible training facility for elite athletes, and yet, full of opportunities for family fun as well. One can find biking and hiking trails throughout this area for many days with out repeating a trail. If your the water sport type, Lake Dillon can provide sailing, kayaking and canoeing areas for your enjoyment – and believe me, the views from the lake are as breathtaking as any from the shore.
Not quite ready to move, but need an income stream to help with your debt service. You my find a renter happy to have that home in the woods instead of being in a apartment or condo complex.
547 “G” Road is currently offered at $324,900.
