Voice your forest concerns
Trail users: Troubled by massive clear-cuts you may see happening while hiking, biking and dog walking Tenmile Range trails this summer? So are many others.
You can express your views on Thursday at noon during the Forest Health Task Force meeting in the Silverthorne Library Community Room. The group’s leader, Howard Hallman, has set aside a third of the meeting’s agenda time to hear from forest users like you.
Our forest provides a big boost to our tourism economy by providing visitors an opportunity to discover an alpine retreat rich in nature’s splendor. Locals find their own getaways in a Summit County backyard ready to test their physical resources and refresh their spirits.
The expected massive beetle kill just didn’t happen in the Tenmile Range where clear-cutting near the Peaks Trail is right now devastating healthy trees.
