Construction diminishes Vail Mountain

I read with sadness your July 22 article, “Construction continues on Vail Mountain.”

It confirmed what I had already suspected after having recently traveled to the top of the gondola there to hike: That the beautiful summer mountain experience has been totally exchanged for a horribly ugly conglomeration of “tourist attractions.”

Is the unique beauty of that mountain not enough for people? Or is the income from a simple gondola ride not enough for Vail? It’s sickening what has been done to that place of natural beauty for the sake of some extra cash!
