Heather Jarvis

After embarking on a three-month solo mission traveling through the West, Heather Jarvis found that she didn’t want to leave. She moved to Summit County in 2010 with her faithful dog and what she had in the car. Heather joined the Summit Daily News team in 2013, beginning her career with the newspaper as a copy editor before moving into the arts and entertainment editor role — a natural fit with her prior experience as a music writer. She recently took on the role of digital engagement editor, focusing on the Summit Daily’s online content and social media presence. Prior to moving to higher lands in what was the best arbitrary decision ever made, the Midwesterner worked as the news editor for the Independence Examiner outside of Kansas City, and holds a degree in print journalism and creative writing from Missouri State University. Now that she’s thoroughly acclimated to High Country living, some of her favorite pastimes include snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
