This week Breckenridge Creative Arts has announced what artists, performers and works will be featured at the annual Breckenridge International Festival of Arts. The 10-day event runs from Aug. 9–18 and will see three installations, four dance performances, one movie night and a multitude of concerts.

The festival will include new commissions by Rotterdam-based Sicilian artist Giuseppe Licari, the American art collective The Canary Project, Denver-based quartet DeVotchKa, multimedia artist DJ Spooky and vertical dance company BANDALOOP.

“Like many of the works we have presented at BIFA in the past, our ecological series can be appreciated on a purely aesthetic level, because it will transform the landscape with the kinds of awe-inspiring spectacles our 10-day summer festival is known for,” said Robb Woulfe, president and CEO of Breckenridge Creative Arts, in a press release. “However, for those who wish to dig deeper, these works will also provide a jumping off point for contemplations — and ecological action — concerning our role in nature.”
