Local artist Amy Evans wins Paint the Parks award
The eighth-annual Paint the Parks national juried exhibition of art for national parks has announced that Amy Evans’ painting “Hide and Seek” has been selected for its 2015 exhibition at the Coutts Museum of Art in El Dorado, Kansas. The painting will be a part of a traveling exhibition for the next year.
“Hide and Seek” depicts Mount Rainier National Park. Evans also received honorable mentions for “Along the Buffalo,” Buffalo National River, Arkansas, and “Sign to the Past, Beaverhead Rock,” Beaverhead Rock Lewis and Clark National Site, Montana.
Two of Evans’ plein air paintings have also been selected for Plein Air Artists of Colorado’s 19th annual National Juried Show, which will be held at the Mary Williams Fine Arts Gallery in Boulder, Thursday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 30.
Evans is a resident of Breckenridge, an art instructor for the Breckenridge Creative Arts District and also serves on the Breckenridge Creative Arts Advisory Committee. Warming Hut hosts summer Supper Club dinners
The Warming Hut Restaurant & Bar, located at 207 N. Main St., will host a pair of Supper Club dinners this summer. The first, at 7 p.m. Monday, July 20, is titled “French Riviera,” with four courses paired with four wines. On Monday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., The Warming Hut will present its “Hut Garden Supper Club,” featuring four vegetarian courses highlighting the bounty of the restaurant’s garden paired with Colorado wines.

Avon gallery seeks contributions for Paint-Out show
Art of the Valley Gallery, located at 240 Chapel Place, Suite B119 in Avon, will host the Summer Paint-Out & Art Show on Saturday, June 20. The Paint-Out is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the evening Art Show displaying the original art of the day’s paint-out for participating artists will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.
People’s Choice, Artist Choice, Business Choice and Vail Valley Art Guild Member best of show voting begins at 4 p.m. at the gallery. The entry fee is $25, and artists interested in participating can email firstname.lastname@example.org for registration form and details by Wednesday, June 17.
