Music Scene: Meniskus returns to the Snake River Saloon in Keystone

Meniskus will play the Snake River Saloon in Keystone on Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22. The music of the Colorado trio is informed by the extensive classical training of Cris Ryt and Eric Ostberg, as well as the unique sound Bardusco brings from his experience as a self-taught guitarist growing up in Venezuela. The influences of popular rock bands, as well as the rhythms of Latin grooves and European techno-house music have found new life in the music of Meniskus. Free live music, morning and night, in Dillon



Spend some time soaking up the sun with free live music in Dillon on Friday, Aug. 21, starting with Rob Schmidt at the Dillon Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dillon Town Park. Ridge Street Wine welcomes Acoustic Moose

Elastic Moose, formerly Acoustic Moose, plays Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22, at Ridge Street Wine/Breckenridge Cheese & Chocolate in Breckenridge. Know for playing some of the loosie, goosiest shows in the county, the long time High Country warbler is made up mostly of organic Indonesian rubber and has the ability to stretch from the Ramones to Van Morison to an Elastic Moose original without missing a beat. Breckenridge bar welcomes one-woman band

Tiffany Christopher will play the MotherLoaded Tavern in Breckenridge on Saturday, Aug. 22. Christopher spent a lot of time last year taking in the space of the desert, locked away with her loop pedals, her kick drum, her ukulele and her electric guitar, carving out a whole new style and taking her music into new and unexplored directions as a one-woman band with a finely tuned new sound. BIFA brings bands to Festival Square

Local Folk and Post Paradise will play a twin bill at Festival Square on the corner of Ridge Street and Washington Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 22, as part of the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts. Local Folk is a collective string band composed of players from the Summit County, playing a fresh mixture of bluegrass, old-time, Western swing and fiddle tunes. Post Paradise is a four-piece alternative rock band with a lead cellist from Fort Collins. This twist on the traditional rock lineup has garnered the band regional and national attention in recent years. Guild of Ages plays Sunset at the Summit

The Sunset at the Summit concert series continues Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Dillon Amphitheater with music from Guild of Ages, formerly known as Five13. Guild of Ages is a melodic hard rock band from Denver. Formed by in the late 1980s, Guild of Ages incorporates strong guitars, large vocal harmonies and keyboards to their unique sound, resulting in an experience that’s high energy and fun. DooWop Denny in Frisco for 16th season

DooWop Denny’s rockin’ oldies show continues its 16th season at Frisco’s Blue Spruce Inn on Sunday, Aug. 23. A lifelong guitar-vocal entertainer, DooWop Denny delivers a feel-good mix of 1950s and ’60s oldies, island tunes, slow dancing and more. His knack for connecting with the audience and playing to the crowd brings excitement to the dance floor, smiles to faces and a whole lot of fun to Main Street Frisco. Festival Square concerts come to a close

Local musician Jon Gamache and Chemistry Club will play the final two sets to close out the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts’ series of concerts at Festival Square on Sunday, Aug. 23. Chemistry Club is a Colorado-native sci-fi-electro-pop band with work including music, video games and comics. Formed in 2012, the band has worked to bring pop music and nerd culture together in a blend of synthesizers, guitar and science. Mark Schlaefer brings his delta blues to the Blue River Bistro on Monday, Aug. 24, and Wednesday, Aug. 26. Schlaefer writes personal acoustic blues about his life in the Colorado High Country. “Even though these songs were written above 9,000 feet, they still sound firmly rooted in delta mud,” the artist said of his album, “The Sweet Honey Mead,” released in 2002. “Dressed in plain spoken words, that sound cuts to the core of the human experience and reveals the indomitability of our souls.” The music runs from 5 to 10 p.m., and there’s no cover.
